Reverend Kim Sam-Whan classifies believers into: those in the garden
of the tabernacle; those in the holy place of the tabernacle; those in the holiest place of
the tabernacle. The first signifies those believers who attend only a daytime worship on
each Sunday, the second are those who attend daytime, nighttime worships and
revivals and the third, the most devoted ones, attend Early Morning Prayer service to
say nothing of the service mentioned before. Early Morning Prayer service lead
believers to the third category of belief, i.e. into the holiest place of the tabernacle. It is
Reverend Kim Sam-Whan’s goal to make believers, including young ones, stronger in
terms of faith and piety and to lead them into the holiest place, by way of the spritual
training named Early Morning Prayer service.
According to Reverend Kim Sam-Whan, a believer can be a man of
great faith by spiritually training himself or herself. “Believers must serve, for which
purpose they should arm themselves with God’s words. For that goal, in turn, they
have to learn how to pray.” he says. A Early Morning Prayer Service is fit for such
purpose. This is why Early Morning Prayer Service contemplate on God’s words in
more depth. Attendees can absorb God’s words to their soul and the words take their
roots in them, which makes a desirable training.
A great number of believers have already confessed their faith at Early
Morning Prayer service. Attendees also can have wonderful spiritual experiences,
feeling the relief by the Holy Spirit.
In this era of night life, a Early Morning Prayer service gives its
attendees the ability to overcome worldly anxieties, concerns, temptations and ordeals.
As such, their lives become something glorious, honest and exemplary.
Every life has its own vicissitudes. Believers, by praying to God,
prudently and sensibly find their ways to overcome those difficulties and troubles
coming to them.
A human’s problems are divided roughly into those related to family,
business, morality, health and religious faith. Those who come to God at dawn see
such problems disappear and feel themselves blessed, getting healthier holistically,
that is, both physically and mentally.
According to Reverend Kim Sam-Whan, the growth and promotion of
his church was not the original intention of the meeting. “Not to be ashamed of myself
before God - that was the reason I devoted myself into the Early Morning Prayer
service. Then, in spite of myself, God gave me the fruit called growth of the church.”
he says.
Early Morning Prayer service of the majority of South Korean churches
are joined by old-age, underprivileged attendees. In contrary, those of the Myungsung
Church are comprised mainly of men, teenagers and youngsters. This has made the
church become younger.
Early Morning Prayer service attendees of the Myungsung Church are
also devoted to other kinds of religious meetings, making the church sounder.
Daytime worship sessions alone cannot make a healthy church. The
Early Morning Prayer service of the Myungsung Church is the driving force for it to go
forward united, which is its supreme goal. The strong power to unite the church is
induced from the spirituality of the Early Morning Prayer Service.
The Early Morning Prayer service of the Myungsung Church is joined
by all its attendees, from the youth to the old, concentrating the capabilities of its every
post and department.
Reverend Kim Sam-Whan has concentrated his efforts on spreading
the blessing from prayer, which is received by Early Morning Prayer service and
imparted to the society. The Myungsung Church invests more than 40% of its annual
budget in missionary works and welfare service. This way, it has aided new churches
nationwide and established scholarship centers, welfare institutions for missionary
works, educational institutions and overseas hospitals, sharing its blessings with all.
The Myungsung Church, by way of prayer, tries to make this society
sounder, livelier and more hopeful while spreading Christian culture.
Since the 1980’s when even the word of ‘The Special Early Morning
Prayer Rally’ did not exist, the Myungsung Church has pioneered and continued that
kind of spiritual meeting as an exemplary institution. Meanwhile, its Early Morning
Prayer service movement and projects like the Flame of Prayer have shown how a
church should develop itself.
Spiritual leaders around the world join the meeting and get challenged.
This way, the Early Morning Prayer service of the Myungsung Church increases South
Korean churches’ recognition worldwide.
